Community Partners Come Together to Distribute Beds Across Oklahoma
NORMAN, OK — Thanks to the generosity of the University of Oklahoma Chi Omega, 75 children and families across Oklahoma now have a safe and comfortable place to sleep. This remarkable donation of 75 mattresses is already making a significant impact on the lives of families in crisis.

The distribution effort was made possible by a powerful collaboration between Judy Sherrin and New Hope Bethel Church’s bunk bed ministry, along with Misty Seale and Christ Church – Norman, who mobilized volunteers to pick up and deliver the mattresses to children and families in need. 111Project’s Church Partners in the area will be notified through the technology platform, CarePortal. They will learn that a bed is needed. Then the local churches can meet that need using the beds provided by Chi Omega.
“The blessing of having a bed to call your own and a comfortable place to rest at night cannot be overstated,” said Kristin Langehr, 111Project’s Western Oklahoma Director, “This donation is more than just mattresses—it’s about restoring dignity, security, and hope.”
Community efforts like these highlight the critical role that local churches, organizations, and individuals play in supporting vulnerable families and children. With ongoing shortages in foster care resources, this kind of partnership is essential.
111Project is proud to celebrate and support the volunteers, churches, and organizations who step up to meet tangible needs and help strengthen families.
